Blog Mentors

What is a mentor? In general, a mentor is an expert in a particular niche that teaches, influences, or tutors novice. Now, a Blog mentor is a Pro Blogger that has been there and done that. This means that he or she may have a few years under his or her belt blogging for a living.

How to Find Blog Mentors? There are many different ways to find mentors to guide you with your blogging. However, I believe networking is one of the easiest ways to find mentors. Don’t be afraid to talk to your peers and ask questions. Visit some of your favorite blogs where you often leave comments.
Chances are you could find a mentor from one of your favorite blogs.

Make every effort to choose your mentors wisely. In other words, you should take advice from mentors with good track record. For example, if you reside in the US and is planning to invest in real estate in the Island of Jamaica, obviously you would seek advice from someone that had prior experience in real estate investment in that area.

Examples of Blog Mentors At the time of writing this post, I consider myself an intermediate Blogger, and not a mentor. I see Bloggers like Daniel Scocco, Darren Rowse, Chris Garrett, Yaro Starak, and Lisa Irby as Blog mentors. These Bloggers have established Blogs with tremendous traffic and readership; they also make a decent living from their blogs.

Benefits of Blog Mentors Even though it’s possible to find mentors that are willing to part with useful information for free, many mentors charge consultation fee. Fees vary from blogger to blogger.

Conclusion Don’t be scared to take action. Take as many notes as possible from your mentor. Jot down as many information as possible. If you communicate with your mentor via email, think of all the questions you would like to ask your mentor and submit them.
